Suzanne Sawyer-Ratliff, M.A. * Gender Equity SpecialistSuzanne Sawyer-Ratliff earned a B. S. in Elementary Education from the State University of New York and is pursuing an M.A. in Social/Multicultural/Bilingual Foundations at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Ms. Sawyer-Ratliff returns to the BUENO Center as a gender equity specialist for the EAC after sixteen years as Director of Library Services for the Equity, Diversity and Education Library in the School of Education at the University of Colorado at Boulder. In her past tenure with BUENO, she administered and directed the UCEP, University to Classroom Equity Project, a grant under the Women’s Educational Equity Act (WEEA) Program and was the coordinator of the BUENO Resource Center. She is also the editor of the State Educational Journal Index, a national publication which annotates education articles from all State Education and School Board Associations. Her educational career includes public school teaching at the elementary level and Governing Board and teaching experience with Head Start Programs. Her primary EAC tasks will be: 1) provide in-service training in gender equity education, 2) disseminate equity materials to clients in Region VIII, and 3) provide technical assistance in Region VIII as needed.
