Manuel Escamilla, Ph.D. * Project DirectorManuel Escamilla earned a Ph.D. from the University of Kansas in Curriculum and Instruction. He has been an Assistant to the President for Equity and Diversity at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, an Assistant Vice President for Diversity and Student Affairs at Metropolitan State College in Denver, Colorado, an Assistant Vice President for Minority Student Affairs at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona, and the state Director of Head Start for Rocky Mountain SER (Service, Education and Redevelopment). Dr. Escamilla has spent most of his professional life working to improve educational opportunities in higher education for students of color. Dr. Escamilla is the Project Director with the primary tasks to: 1) direct the daily implementation of project, including all budget expenditures, 2) supervise staff and evaluator and communicate with Advisory Board, partners and clients, and 3) implement a significant amount of high quality training and technical assistance as requested throughout the Region VIII. |
